Great Ocean Road

Built as a memorial to soldiers killed in the First World War, the Great Ocean Road winds 243 kilometres around the southern coastline of the state of Victoria from Torquay to Warrnambool. The best part of the road to drive is the stretch between Torquay and Apollo Bay. However the road features some spectacular scenery if you don’t mind driving straight for a little bit.

A recommended stop along the drive is the famed Bells Beach. And if you’re looking for somewhere to stay, the townships of Torquay, Lorne and Apollo Bay have plenty of options. I recommend you commence your journey with a drive through coffee from the Brew Crew along the Surf Coast Highway. And for breakfast, the Wye River General Store will serve you a meal you won’t be disappointed with.

It ain't a fast car but the cruise made the drive even more enjoyable || @sonyaustralia #a7rii + FE 16-35mm f/4
